Dave, I'm not sure if Nelson is naive enough enough to cop this. I think he's fully aware now of the precariousness of his tenure so, he just might quit before much more damage is done to his reputation. He's probably looking for a job elsewhere right now.
9% popularity rate (ie 91% unpopularity) is a clear enough message for someone, even though it is at this early stage. He'll probably give it twelve months at the most and then say, he wants to spend more time with his family.
Perhaps the Libs will put young Julie as a bite after that for a while longer until, she, too, decides to fly off to Italy and join Amanda and the good life.

My prophetic powers (always inaccurate!) say that Turnbull won't come into the picture until the Libs can see victory within their grasp... which will not be before the third term.

Let's hope it will be a good, fruitful, competent, sensitive and sensible two terms with this mob in. Long overdue!
