I see posters here talking about Chinese control...but CK is not a Chinese govt entity, far from it.......it is an international investment group long based in HK but with interests everywhere including in Australia, Canada, Europe.....yes the principals are "Chinese"...but it is a step away from Chinese government control....it would be a pretty long bow to reject it on the grounds of being a "Chinese" bid.
Rejecting it on the overall grounds of national interest is still possible...and unpredictable as we have seen with Graincorp and Ausgrid...its a pretty fickle outcome and non transperant process...seemingly much on a whim.
The hope might be that now APA is in play another option comes onto the table...
