    very true, i guess also in australia waste disposal is prob cheap as chips. plenty of land to dump and bury waste. Lazy mans way i guess. Asian countries i presume are densely populated, less available land so waste disposal may also be more costly, so they have a more practical incentive to recycle atm.

    for australia to do the same we would have to have a large shift of idealogy.

    i worked on a contsruction site a few years ago, they were building a state of the art recycle plant for food waste, and grease traps etc. i think for biofuel or fertilliser. So thats promising.

    as far as the plastics and metals and breaking down complex built items, i still think its a little way off although would be great if it was happening ASAP. For now we just seeing isolated incidents like mbile phones, and printer cartridges, that really isnt workable to me in long run unless one body takes it all.

    Ive gone to tips many times and there no real watchdog to stop ppl from dumping anything. sure they had a few bins for diff items for the dumper to sort his stuff but its not really enforced.

    But very poor overall to me.
