If Africa had advanced in line with it's potential, there wouldn't be the problem we are having today, and Africa would be a very popular holiday destination. There's a huge amount of resources, and it could be self-sustaining but between civil wars, warlord type leaders, and huge corruption, none of us will see that eventuate.
I saw a documentary on the east coast, from Somalia through Kenya then down to Tanzania, and more than likely, none of us will ever go there, due to it being so unsafe...….absolute shame. Even the documentary crew were continually confronted by raiders, and the groups offering protection along the way, had to pay off other groups, who missed out on the deal. The cities/towns were dingy stink holes, infested with crime, and people didn't live half as long as we do. Probably how Australia would have turned out, if the Poms hadn't dropped by.
