Well for 7 years of strict Catholic School I had the bible rammed down my throat and the more we had to read it the more it raised questions - questions that no one could answer without referring back to the bible.

You are right - it's not just a book - it's a very powerful means of brainwashing the masses mainly though fear and somewhat through favour. There is nothing kind or charitable about its protagonists.

My father-I later realised-was an atheist and I remember asking him one day why he never went to mass

He replied that one day I would work it all out by myself - and I am finally starting to.
The important thing is get out of the matrix that you find yourself in where everyone does the thinking for you
