Blueice, it is soooo disheartening. I am only a new share investor having bought in last year with a longterm view. I never came in to be a daytrader or make fortunes, and I feel I have been punished severely for playing fair and investing as all the financial text books say (i.e. "time" not timing). Just about every guru on radio and t.v. were saying that 08 would deliver about 11% returns. I wish I had kept my cash, but my know-all Accountant said that I "must" do something with it or it will be eroded by tax and inflation - I've lost pretty much 25% of it since I took her advice. As soon as any of my bluechips get back to breakeven, I'm selling out and I'm never returning to the sharemarket again ever. It isn't for me. Hard, expensive and heartbreaking lesson. How can I ever keep afloat alongside these big players with their manipulative powers. I do hope that PM Rudd will ensure this business gets looked into, as Howard (big business lover - hater of little guy) imo never would have done.
