A woman is raped and dies, and men are somehow upset because a man did it, and male culture is implicated.
Weirdly, truckloads of men act as the "real victims", though a woman was raped. And a woman died.
Yet if an Islamist kills, most Muslims are regularly implicated. They are required (on HotCopper and elsewhere) as a community to disown the crime for an outcast nutjob.
Fair enough. Let's imagine the same rules apply. A man raped Eurydice. A man killed her. I am a man and believe that's utterly wrong, even though it was committed by an outcast nutjob man.
My priority is not creating a safe space for my male self and crying into my teddy bear because people are so unfair towards me because Eurydice was raped and killed by someone who looked a little like me.
My priority is making the world safer for a woman like Eurydice. Let's do it.
Or you could cop out and pretend to be a victim or deflect from what's going on.
