Hazer’s called this a demonstration plant in slide 9 of the pack, so it’s not yet commercial-scale. This is bound to explain the smaller tonnage (to my knowledge the only 1,000tpa plant they’re set to work on is with MIN post-Q3, so no promise broken I think).
For the demo plant, they’re aiming at 100-500kg graphite per day, with a 1:4 ratio of hydrogen to graphite. So it should produce up to 125kg H2 daily, about the amount needed to refuel 25 Mirais. It could be a springboard to a cookie-cutter plant approach, which sounds great.
As Low Key also said, perhaps a deal with Primetals is still on the cards in the near-term, just with a longer development timeframe. I wouldn’t like to see Geobrand2 proved right, nor would Geobrand2. I’ve always assumed a potential partner or two would react well to a successful PPP 2.0, which must be sooner than later. If they take longer to bite, in the meantime there’s loads of potential to come out of the deal with MIN.
