“not just the breadwinner”?
With comments like that, I think you’ve really lost the plot.
Firstly, most mothers work. So they are breadwinners too. There is plenty of equality (but the divorce rate has rocketed).
Secondly, if the father is the only breadwinner, how can he be equally caring and nurturing? He’s not there for 80% of the children’s waking time. The mother has the c & n role by default. He often needs c & n himself when he gets home!
Thirdly, there is nothing wrong with being the breadwinner. In today’s society of entitlements it’s time that being the breadwinner was promoted as a good rôle model, deserving as much respect as the c & n mother, parents working as a team, complementing each other rather than competing.
