I spoke to a mate at poker tonight who services machines for the big mining companies. Reckons that the best companies to work for are in iron ore, nickel and copper because they have great margins. Stated that gold miners work you harder as there margins are thinner than some of the other miners.

Given the spate of problems seen with gold companies i'm currently prefer other sectors including iron ore (TTY), copper (ABY), mining services (NWH) etc. Good margins and high grades it would seem are the key.
