That's the entire reason companies succeed at cheap takeovers. People are emotionally attached to the number on the right of the screen.
2 months ago people like you were bullish for $1 and I got laughed at for saying 60c would be reasonable. Now you would take half that and I still think 60c would be reasonable. The share price hasn't changed where I see the value point but for most they would take a low ball bid to end the perceived pain.
