Oddly, I still think their might be a deal to be done, involving Twiggy and Ellison. If Twiggy's genuine about diversifying, and keen to stop Rinehart stymying development of genuine value adding industries in WA, he'll talk to and deal with Ellison.
Ellison doesn't maintain the sorts of ROE and ROI by standing still, or by overpaying for risky or substandard assets.
I'm still amazed (almost) by the people who get so emotional, and celebrate someone like Ellison being done in a couple of takeover bids - go and have a look at the history of who 'wins' - the bidder or the biddee?
Yes, of course, Ellison wanted to find a way to get BOSS (BOTS) on show, and use the Atlas ground and assets to help him do it. But, a one trick pony he ain't, never has been, never will be.
