Don't take this the wrong way but it's a bit of a stupid question .
Even if it was really windy and all the wind turbines were operating , there isn't enough of them to do the job - today .
Just as there isn't the storage that we need to to timeshift power - today .
Renewables provide around 16 % of Australia's energy . A number that's growing steadily each year however it is going to take a long time before they are the biggest electricity generators .
