The idea is to have lots of solar generation , lots of wind generation , maybe even some tidal generation and large amounts of storage .
In the periods where we have large excesses of solar and wind generation it will be stored in various ways to be drawn on when needed . Behind the meter storage . Behind the motor ( ev ) storage . Large commercial storages etc .

There is plenty of information available that demonstrates how this will work . All you have to do is read up on it .

Which means duplication upon duplication of Infrastructure and generation equipment and exorbitant cost of energy.
