Perhaps a little sensible interpretation of what I said might be in order rather than jumping in and saying that my post was "rot". (And thank you for the polite manner in which you directed that particularly succinct comment.)

I would, respectfully, point out - that I didn't say "the general market" or the All Ordinaries Index or anything of the kind.

The term "market" could also refer to the particular market for a particular stock. Or, the particular markets for some particular stocks.

I could go on - but perhaps you get the drift? I hope so.
