    Of those 3 finalists, I still think MESMER won, however the criteria for determining the winner was stacked against D13 for this particular event.

    MESMER isn't an all in one solution, whereas the other two winning products were, and that's really what this competition was looking for. For D13 it was a chance to showcase and test their product, probably realizing from the very start they'd never win as they didn't meet all the judging criteria.

    MESMER is a superior solution in most cases to dealing with illegal or unwanted drone intrusions, however jamming is sufficient for a lot of military purposes (where they don't care if the drone lands in water, get's shot up, etc). In civilian use however, the MESMER controller generally wants to remove the drone from their airspace, without being sued for damages if the drone is damaged or destroyed by it's owner. This competition was aimed at military use, hence the outcome with these 3 finalists.
