let's look at some of the points you make

**"Centro, on fundamentals and on technical evidence, deserved to be shorted......." why?

**"It doesn't matter whether its done secretly, openly, whatever....." I and many others beg to differ.

**"If you can't read the sharemarket - then you shouldn't be there....." As an investor in the market looking at the fundamentals how am i supposed to know that Hedge funds are secretly using a loophole to short say CBA or Centro etc. who's next?

**The price is there everyday for everybody to see. The trends are there everyday for everybody to see....."
let's see now CBA falling by the biggest single-day fall in 19 years. THAT WAS NOT IN THE TREND! that was manipulation pure and simple.

**"When its obvious - even Blind Freddy can see it - except if you won't see it....." Too right when it's obvious but how can it be obvious to the average mum and dad investors when these Hedge funds, some from overseas, come here and decide to secretly short say CBA or any other stock? How is it obvious?? please explain unless you mean after the fact?

**What I did was to run a course on "Reading the Stock Market". (This is something I do from time to time for people who are interested....." You run courses on the Stock Market, so how am i supposed to know if you have advised against buying and are now worried that the sp is going to go back up and thus look rather foolish??

**I might add that I also write a "Weekly Stock Market Report - For Educational Purposes"....Again how do i know that you are merely worried that CNP is going to go back up and thus make you look foolish? How do i know that you haven't advised everyone to short and thus make you look like some sort of guru if you're right??

**"In order to read the Report - one really has to have done the course"....So i won't be able to understand unless i do your course? Give me a break!

**"People have to be responsible for their investments. And if they are starting to lose - for whatever reason - they must take some action to protect themselves"....mum and dad investors can't keep daily tabs on their super funds or the custodians of their super funds. We are taking action by reporting them them to the ASX

**They must be able to orderly exit losing investments before panic and fear take them over".... But we don't know until after the fact because of the loophole. How hard is this to comprehend?

**The funds are well aware that sooner or later fair value will return to the value of the shares..." Sure that might be the case but try telling that to the poor investor reaching retirement who was planning on using some of their super for a well earned holiday say only to find that the value of his shares has just gone down dramatically because on overseas fund has exploited a loophole.

**"It seems to me that the funds are, in fact, acting in the best interests of their investors".... like i said, too bad if you were planning on retiring and using those funds in the near future. May have to continue working for anothet 10 years.

    PS

you still have not answered the following.....

Ordinarily, all trades have to be registered and must be disclosed to the stock exchange by nine the morning after the transaction

On top of the selling, they add in a nasty rumour to drive the price even lower

let's say i operate a hedge fund and i decide to borrow shares of the custodians of a super fund in which you have invested heavily all your life and are looking forward to using in your imminent retirement. Let's say they are CBA shares and you also have a holding of these shares in the market.

Would you still have no problems with this if i was then to use a loophole in the ASX to borrow your shares from your super to short your shares on the market?
