    Nannook,

nobody can borrow YOUR stock, without asking you. Can I borrow your car without asking you?

Short selling has been around for >100 years. The article has been recycled from about 3 weeks ago.

This only really affects you if you have a margin loan. In this case - you may not be the beneficial owner of the shares. Then the shares that you have bought using someone elses money might be lent out to others. This practice was mainly used by Tricom. This article here, explains it better:

Writing letters to ASIC may be pointless - you are not accusing anyone of breaking the law. ASIC's main role is to enforce the Corporations Act.

CQT is falling because people who own the shares are prepared to sell them at these low prices. Also you could hardly say that the price fall in CQT is caused by people who own it using a margin loan being forced out suddenly. The share has been in steady decline for 1 year now.

If you want another reason for the price decline, look at the reports that CQT are putting out. How about this from the 29th of Jan:

"vuggy textured silica, and an underlying 126m zone
of moderate to strongly illite ± dickite ± kaolinite ± alunite ± quartz - marcasite ± pyrite altered dacitic volcanics from 176m depth."

    or:

"the rhyodacite unit was interpreted to represent a
distal continuation of the Silver Hill Deposit host stratigraphy/alteration system"

    or:

"The hole intersected a thick sequence of upper mixed (mafic-felsic) provenance volcanoclastics and lower andesitic pyroclastics"

Can you explain what that means in plain english - because one of them was a "Highlight" of the report.

Complain to the 'Plain English' society if you'd like to see CQT go up.

    Joel
