Following up on my AYR post from yesterday, pay particular attention to the Mutooroo Gneiss at grid reference 6,437,500 mN to 6,435,000 mN on the far right hand side of the map below:

Source of map: HAV Annual Report EL3382 'Mutooroo Mine' for period 28th July 2009 - 27th July 2010 (available on SARIG), page 13

The Mutooroo Gneiss does not just stop at the NSW/SA border (an artificial line on a map), it has to continue into the Ophara project area. It would be great if someone can follow up with Andy Viner (AYR Executive Chairman) to see if he has a similar graphic on the NSW side of the border, that can be posted on this forum.

In the upcoming AYR drilling program the AYR drillers need to locate a Mutooroo Gneiss style shear/fracture zone in an amphibolite body, which is where the copper-cobalt mineralisation occurs at the Mutooroo project (on the South Australian side).

The trick for AYR is to locate the favourable stratigraphic and structural settings for that mineralisation within an amphibolite body, before it drills.

Note: the Mutooroo copper-cobalt-gold JORC mineralisation occurs as located structured remobilised, sulphide rich, breccia zones developed within a locally altered shear/fracture zone largely confined to an amphibolite body.

For those that are interested, there is a great article on Mutooroo Gneiss in the Curnamona Basin available below (MESA Journal 41, April 2006):
