    Bit of press in Germany:

I have googled translated from Germany to English - apologies if there is any mistakes, perhaps our German friends on these boards can point out any errors if there is any

    Hot Corner: Cobalt bet

Thanks to the trend topic of electromobility, the demand for the metal cobalt is growing significantly.  Celsius Resources wants to benefit from it.

The metal cobalt is currently in everyone's mouth.  Reason is the rapidly emerging electric mobility.  Electric vehicles are mainly equipped with lithium-ion batteries.  For their cathodes, lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese oxide is currently the most popular metal combination. For example, about five kilograms of cobalt are needed for the battery of about one Tesla.
Lithium-ion batteries with cobalt-containing cathodes are also used in smartphones.  These have an average cobalt content of 16 grams.

There is already a shortage of supply for cobalt, which has quadrupled the price of the metal since the beginning of 2016 until today.  According to estimates by the International Energy Agency (IEA), cobalt demand will rise to nearly 300,000 tonnes annually by 2030.  That's three times the current production.  In addition to the scarce supply, about two-thirds of the world's subsidized cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo - a crisis state characterized by political unrest.

In this market situation, the small Australian cobalt-focused exploration company Celsius Resources ( CLA 0.083 -19.42% ) (ASX: CLA, 0.15 austr. $ On Tuesday, 106.9 million austr. $ Stock market value) is driving the Opuwo project in Namibia ,  Namibia is also located in Africa, but is considered in contrast to the Congo as well-established and politically stable.

The Opuwo project covers an area of 1,470 square kilometers in northwestern Namibia.  It is located about 800 kilometers from the capital Windhoek;  It is about 750 kilometers to the port of Walvis Bay.  The project has an excellent infrastructure.  It is only 30 kilometers to the Opuwo regional center, which offers a wide range of services.  After Windhoek and Walvis Bay lead paved roads.  A hydroelectric power station is located nearby;  a power line passes through the eastern part of the project area.

    Resource with potential
An initial estimate based on 128 holes revealed a resource of 112.4 million tonnes of ore containing 0.11% cobalt, 0.41% copper, and 0.43% zinc.  This yields 126,100 tonnes of cobalt, 464,280 tonnes of copper and 483,750 tonnes of zinc.  The resource can be increased since it was drilled on a smaller part of the area.

An investment in Celsius Resources continues to be speculative, despite good prospects.  Risks continue to exist in areas typical of exploration companies, such as geology, engineering, grants and financing. If these can be successfully managed and the company makes further progress, a takeover by a large mining company can not be ruled out.
