kakoii... the $20 per tonne is more of a guess..
but not total guess, i did some study on excavation, and involved in the building industry.. on average depending on soil type of course... it costs around $20 to excavate soil out of the ground.
i know iron ore excavation is different and involves much more. but if it costs $20 in australia, knowing that india is much more cheaper than aust in labour and transport etc, you would assume its comes to about the same price...
put it this way, if it was a much higher price than $20 in india , say 30-40.. then here in australia it would cost $60-70, which is nearly not worth digging iron..
