I have no problem in the government saying sorry that day. Whether you regard it as the government saying sorry on behalf of all Australians, or on behalf of the Commonwealth Parliament of Australia is a point that is of no concern to me. I agree with the reasons for giving that apology, I was happy to hear those word uttered by the prime minister, and that is what is important to ME. If you don't agree with the reasons for the apology, it is of NO interest to me. Nobody is denying your right to disagree with the actions of the government but that is not the point of this thread, and mind you, I didn't start the thread.
You said "My point still sticks; get over the 'sorry' game and live." Well, who is not getting over the sorry business ? I would suggest it is you, by the manner of your response to my post. If you read VERY carefully the start of this thread, it was another poster who said it was naive of Rudd to .......... (read the start of the thread yourself, there is no need for me to repeat it). My response to that thread was that it was not naive, plus some other bits which I added in my posts to bring in the leader of the opposition who said sorry as well. My question back to that poster was: was Nelson naive too.
So, do read posts carefully.
There were some lengthy threads on "Sorry" on the day the apology was made, but you will find that I hardly participated in those threads for the reasons I mentioned above. It is an emotional issue for a lot of people, and it is an issue that requires deep introspection and it is an introspection that I chose to do so in the privacy of my own mind.
My post re you posting twice was made in jest, if you had noticed the hehehe after the sentence.
