I heard from a friend the other day telling about a financial reporter visiting Netherlands who noticed one in 4 cabs were Tesla model S's. He asked the tesla taxi driver how he found the S, and he said it was fantastic, better than a petrol/diesel car. He then asked whether he'd buy another, and he said no. Why? He said VW, Benz, Audi etc were all bringing out their own models, and he wants the comfort of having an established support network. So really this is the issue, if all the main manufacturers go substantial electric, using /adapting existing factories, the move from ICE to electric could be quite rapid. Fully Charged youtube channel has good info on the escalation of charging infrastructure throughout Europe. Orecobre might have no choice but to commence stage 3 in next few years, just to keep all them the factories going electric! Imagine that, no feasibility study, final investment committment etc, just banks offering the cash and they just build it straight away.
