Further, the halt will result in many not meeting shorting requirements on a t+3 basis.

When trading halt prevent shares that were purchased on t+3 not being paid for in the allocated time (ie three days from purchase), the sponsoring broker generally force sells those shares back into the market on the very first trading day that is available.

It is a similar situation for short selling that does not settle...only in this case, the sponsoring brokers will be forced to buy the stock back on their clients behalfe at the first trading opportunity.

This could help fuel a significant gap-up and continuation run when next they resume, especially if directors can manage to protect themselves from the efforts of others to flush them via margin...and indeed, if good news of one sort or anotrher transpires regarding those interested in parts of the company.

Also, if those who scooped the bottom of the share purge feel they have most of what might be available, they may well see reasong to support their new low-entry positions...and best way to do that is with a major effort on the open to lock the shorters out, whcih not only pushed the stock price up, but creates an environment where all those who have shorted are facing stop-loss on their sells, leading to replacement buying on-market...and further upwards pressure on the stock.

I would not be at all surprised to see a $2.50+ open...with it held there (if not pushed higher) throughout the day.

Conversely, there is probably just as many arguments to see the stock go the other way?

My bias however is to see the stock rise from next they trade...especially given I have a fairly decent position.
