Just looking at the transactions on the heads since 1 jan…
There has been 12.257m shares traded.
Comsec account for 22.1%, Etrade 11.3% and Westpac 8.6%
UBS has been the net seller, with 185k shares bought and 1.237m sold. Net change -1.052m
Credit Suisse is next with 255k bought at 1.092m sold.. net change -836k
I say interestingly re UBS because their average buy trade parcel size was 10,302 and the average sell trade parcel size was 5,838!
Largest net buyer has been etrade… with a net increase of 852k followed by morgan stanley 501k
Intersuisse are also interesting, in that their average buy parcel is 116k and sell parcel 32k. Patersons also, 22k average buy and 7k average sell
Comsec buy and sells largely matched, and etrade (buy = 5690 and sell = 6739) and westpac (buy = 4608 and sell = 6373) both have larger average sell orders, despite etrade being a net buyer.
As for the brokerage hounds…
Instinet are the bots.. 388 sell transactions for 180k shares total.. or 488 shares per sell transaction. They have bought back only 35k shares during the period
Morgan stanley also.. 219 buy transactions averaging 2315 shares, and only 3 sales for 5062 shares in total.
And finally lehman… 110 buy transactions at 1156 shares ave, and 95 sell transactions at 995 ave
(note, this doesn’t include the last 3 days worth of trades)
People talk about manipulation.. and whilst I am employing the KISS principle this time around with range, when you look at the above and in particular the original of some of these firms, its pretty clear
