Their operational update released on 19/04/18 advises 100% of capacity at their current allotment at port will be utilised during FY19 for their iron ore operations.
A potential takeover of Atlas would shore up port capacity given the run rate will be at capacity in 2019. It would ensure any decision made in the future to increase supply would lessen the possibility of supply chain disruptions.
The below bill re the sale of Utah is quite interesting. Nb it was repealed a year later.
Treasury believes that bhp is entitled to 6mt based on its contribution. PPA says that in exchange for other benefits to bhp, that 6mt was released by bhp.
