I expect we may not see any details to protect the IP, which makes it a bit hard to work out if its a realistic process or not.
Its gotta be something that they can get the Al into solution from. Notice they did say they didnt need acids - but what about bases.
A simple industrial product could just be 99.99% Al metal - comes in at about US$3-5k per tonne on Alibaba
