To be honest I am not that impressed with the announcement,
No images of the SC
No detail on the SC capacity, previously we had a result of 20 watt hours / L which is 2-3 x more than Skeleton Technologies.
From FGR's Technology update October 2017
"Recent Progress Test work with a water-based electrolyte (1 volt working window) has enabled energy density of 0.02 Wh/cm3, which has already exceeded all commercial supercapacitors and the Li thin-film battery. Progression to an ionic liquid (3.5 volt working window) has the potential to further enhance the energy density."
No detail if the SC is using a ionic liquid or if it is still using a water based electrolyte,
No details on the SC voltage, is it still 1 volt or 3.5 volt.
No explanation if the 20 lasers increase the surface area by adding more pores i.e if this creates a larger energy storage, or if this is a way of speeding up production.
Anyway moving on,
The following video covers Skeleton Technologies Ultra Capacitor STUC, well worth watching to give you a idea where the BEST battery can be used. remember that STUC only has a 5 wH/L vs FGR's reported 20wH/L
