If anyone had bought this at 5 or 6c and saw it go as high as 36c (7x bagger) before it began its descent, you couldn't be totally faulted for not selling as you regard it as having a long term potential worth much much higher (I had the same view then). But then, risk management has always been part of the game and you ought to have noticed the red flags I have been posting since February (especially the 200m performance shares issued to Ed) and taking profits, when still ample then, would have been a decent decision.
A common mistake IMO is to focus on recovering what has been 'lost' (on paper) rather than the remaining profits you still have. So when the sp went down to 25c , focussing on the 11c that you have 'lost' instead of the 20c gain you still have, could have resulted in you doing nothing (and doing nothing is doing something) ....and it got worse and could get even worse (hopefully not).
A great story IMO that proved to be an eventual winner is unlikely to have a perpetually falling sp - insiders who know the real value would be buying when sp falls , preventing a larger fall, but what you likely get here is outstanding share base increasing, promoters gradually selling down their free options and performance shares in less volume trade except intermittently when holders and prospective new buyers get excited over 'promising' announcements.
