GST is a tax that applies to all goods and services (with a few minor exceptions).

Why should overseas companies be exempt from charging it?

If they are, why wouldn't all Aus online sellers set up shop o/s and sell to us GST free? Thereby removing jobs and more tax revenue.

Regardless of who campaigned for it. Logically it has to be done.
