I recall being with a male in a car, searching for a particular address. We were using a Melways. I told him I used a Gregory's street directory because, with Melways, the street I ever looked for was in the binding of the double spread page. I thought it was evident to anyone at all with even half a brain, I was attempting to lighten our increasing frustration of not being to easily locate our destination. He took my comment seriously, and went off half-demented. I then recognised that the type of women he had experienced may have made this comment seriously.
It was an attempt at humour, which, if said to my friends would have immediately been recognised as such.
Just as my banish all cars, have parking bays for jeeps instead, everyone walk to the shops, etc etc etc would have been recognised by 99% of the population as a bit of silly humour. However, 1% took the bait. viz yourself!!!!
Oh dear.
My friends and I find lots of stuff funny in life. You should lighten up, wealthyone.
