The Whitlam government was at least as good as their conservative predecessors. Ironically, Fraser who followed them looked like a school bully but actually pursued a progressive agenda (which labor was so vilified for but if the conservatives do it must be OK).
That was the 70s but now we have a 1945 era prime minister. That's progress.
