I was initially concerned (for about a week or two), but after I've researched more on the issues and the history behind this issue, I think that putting Wong Tack and Fuziah on the committee is just one way for Yeo to manage these 2 servants of her. Yeo needs to give face to these 2 MPs in order for them to have a crack at reconciling with their past. However, whatever that they recommend to Yeo as part of the committee, Yeo as the Minister still has to balance what is GOOD for the country, i.e. striking the right balance between country/industry development, economy and environment. Yeo is not stupid - to take away Lynas is to take away a business that is spending RM300M per year in Kuantan. She's definitely not going to act just based on some environmental purist emotions - she has to act rationally and make a decision based on facts.
