    Hi,

Found this Indian web page which quotes some iron ore plants as accepting 4-5% alumina (Rourkela Steel Plant).

It also says that Silica + Alumina should be no more than 10%, and Silica should not be more than 1.5x Alumina content.

The problem BRM have is the Silica which is way too high even after beneficiation.

According to their December Report their beneficiation reduces the Silica content to between 7.5% and 12.5%.

I guess that BRM are still working to reduce the silica levels further in an economic way.

This explains why they didn't release the impurity figures, and use the word 'potential' when describing if the product is saleable.

That said, they do have 60Mt of reasonably good stuff, which isn't all that bad. In my view their 1000Mt announcement was sensationalist. It seems odd to me as a layperson that a JORC resource can be announced on a deposit that would not be fit for sale.

    Joel
