the world would be a better place without religion- that would get rid of one of the barriers. at the end of the day, most people probably want to get on with their lives, and cope with the day to day problems of living. watso recalls a song which had the words "the russians love their children too". of course, during the cold war, the ruskies were always portrayed as the bad ones - but that seems to be all at the politcal level. - but the ordinary people, at heart, are probably the same all over the world
sadly, even the sunni muslims, and the shia muslims do not get on with each other
religious schools are a fact of live, (muslim christian), but watso wonders if they are really necessary, because it entrenches the religious perspective of people (like the notion "we are the true faith - the others are wrong" - but then of course, people have freedom of choice. even though watso is an atheist, he did teach at a religious school (protestant), and from that prespective, watso could say, that religion played a very small part in the school curriculum (in the school were watso taught), but wonders if it is the same in other religious dominated schools
