Just want to paint a possible scenario:
NAB have massive shareholding they HAVE to get rid of .....
B&B have bought significant stakes in RAT, REU and RJT
Kinghorn has increased stake in RRT AND Allco.
Kinghorn knows Allco business inside out and backwards and all the Rubicon businesses
Scenario
Kinghorn in tandem with B&B acquire NAB shareholding OFFMARKET (like they did with RAT etc via auction - NAB have to sell and don't want to be left holding assets worth nil - which is a possibility if they hold on to them)
The A team negotiate with bankers in the background - as a combined team they have the clout and the positive reputation
They make a formal play for Allco and the Rubicon businesses take a complete scalpel to the overhead costs, re-focus the business picking out the best assets and dump the rest....
Any thoughts on the scenario - it does seem that there is positioning going on with strategic stakes being taken....
I am currently waiting on the sidelines to go back in as this whole play is high risk....but........could this be an interestign scenario - interested in your collective thoughts...
