As the company grows they spend cash on inventory, advertising and other increased cash outflows. The cash inflows from these increased expenses is in the future, resulting in being cashflow negative, but increasingly profitable. Growth companies have an inverse relationship between net cashflow and profits.
Being cashflow positive indicates that they expect weaker sales in the future.
