I think it was about the early '70's when an expedition of people with good intent went out into the Central Desert in search of a rumoured "lost tribe". They found it, albeit reduced to one couple, man and wife. They had existed out there, avoiding contact with the white man at all costs till then, living naked out in that harsh environment.
They had also avoided contact with other Aboriginals, as they had breeched tribal law re blood lines.
They were brought in and settled in Wiluna...... where a few years later they were dead from the ravages of alcohol. A touching tale..... the do-gooders should have left them out there to eventually die with dignity.
That pops into my head occasionally and makes me shake it.
