Now that Aroura has been granted a plot in Malta, it leaves Canopy Growth somewhat lagging in the European MC stakes. The 2nd largest Cap MC company (Aroura) has one up on the global MC behemoth, Canopy.
Canopy have three companies in Europe namely Alcaliber (Spain), Spectrum Cannabis (Denmark) and Spektrum Cannabis (Germany)
Alcaliber (Spain)
I am not sure what value this company is to Canopy other than its ties to the Opiate based European pharmaceutical network. Perhaps they plan at a later stage to utilise these connections to infiltrate BIG Pharma with assorted MC products, if / when they get them in production.
From what I can gather, Alcaliber neither grows Cannabis nor refines to produce CBD. It appears to be a 100% grower and producer of opiates.

You could be mistaken for thinking this is simply a ‘front’ for future MC adventures fostered by Canopy. The small ‘info’ website is all in Danish with no English translated option. The guts of it translates to ………….
"January 1, 2018 marked the start of the Danish trial scheme for treatment of patients with medical cannabis. Thus, the framework is created to help a variety of patient groups as well as to generate new knowledge in order to add additional evidence of the impact of medical cannabis products.
It is important for us to be part of the cooperation between patients, doctors, researchers and producers in the trial scheme." They appear to have no growing or processing here whatsoever.

Based on the above, it appears Canopy have no growing facilities in Europe nor do they have a processing plant. The only GMP facility appears to be at Alcaliber where it is 100% dedicated to producing ‘opiates’ – the basis for pain killing drugs produced by Big Pharma that are directly responsible for killing 175 people in the USA every single day!
With opiates killing over 64,000 people every year in the US alone, it begs the question….
“What is a Cannabis based mega company like Canopy doing siding with a company that produces opiates, which are seen to be the pharma opposition to Medical Cannabis?”
If anything, Canopy seems to be in desperate need a bonafide European MC producer (like MXC) that ticks all the boxes and would greatly enhance the operability and profitability in Europe.
If Canopy did make an offer for MXC, I’d be jumping for joy!
