That is a very interesting question to which there are multiple answers.
The new directors see a future.
The new directors see an opportunity to use the business model in other regions/markets and want to gain as much knowledge as possible
The new directors have investors lined up if the company goes private
The new directors are being paid handsomely either directly or via third parties to windup the affairs of the company in an orderly manner for other reasons as yet unknown.
And I am sure people can think of other reasons.
