No, rent is not profit. First you have to deduct all your costs; mortgage payments, insurance, maintenance and repairs, tax, time (if you value your time) or management fees, and you have to allow for vacancies, etc.
Most property owners are lucky to break-even on rent. But no doubt you make a huge profit, just like the gold bugs who all bought their gold at US$250/oz.
