As I said to you, AVZ is not sitting on a rare earth deposit, it is sitting on a lithium deposit. Whilst AVZ is a strategic deposit, if it is not developed then it leaves expansion options for the plays in the Pilbara/Brine Producers and other lithium deposits not in production (and some of which are also in the DRC). The world is moving to EV in part because of environmental issues and that won't stop.

Your argument is similar to the OPEC cartel argument - well OPEC hasn't been doing well of late, and even before EVs, because it couldn't control the production of non-OPEC cartel members. Sure, there might be some short term benefit but AVZ cannot become a stranded deposit if economics stacks up because of there are other plays around. And the difference in lithium and oil was when theOPEC cartel was formed there were other few worldwide producers of oil, whereas in lithium we already have a lot of non-controlled Chinese producers(including Albermale's 49% stake in Greenbushes itself.

Now as to your iron ore argument - yes prices fell and profits impacted a little short term. What you fail to mention is iron ore production has gone through the roof the last few years (just graph export tonnages) meaning profits have been stable because falling prices have been negated to a large part by increased volumes given BHP and Rio are among the lowest cost iron ore producers in the world (i.e. the importance of scale and size). If you are going to make such comparisons look at the whole picture beyond one or two years.

And explain too me why hydroxide facilities are been built in WA as we speak by Tianqi and Albermale
