Undersecretary Paulson said the Fed Reserve will do whatever is neccessary to enable the financial markets to continue to operate with efficiency and stability.
I think a lot of people took comfort from those words.
It means the Fed and the Government are prepared to step in to prevent the collapse of financial institutions.
