Sweetened repost.
By the way, if it sold for $5 million, then by definition it is worth $5 million, not 50 or 200 or whatever.
There are hundreds of examples out there where someone has bought something for under $100 and it is worth millions. Just because you pay that amount it does not mean it is worth that amount.
Yours statement is incorrect.

In 2014, a Faberge egg was purchased for $14,000 at a flea market. But it turned out that the egg was one of 50 made for the Russian royal family in the 19th Century and happened to be worth a possible $20 million.
Now we know that the Magnis equipment they bought is not junk as they have stated it is the rolls royce of battery making equipment and imo they were magnificent in getting it for the price they did. What would have been the price if there were a few battery startups after it? Right place right time but also the right team who knew what they could do with the right equipment.
If Magnis had to buy all the equipment new what would it be worth? Well over $100 million is the answer. So just because they paid $5 million it does not mean it is only worth that.
To me it is a clear they are smart business men. .
