My view is that your analogy falls flat because there is yet to be seen objective, independent proof that the $14,000 egg in actually worth $20m. Thus, we seem to have a flea market shopper telling everyone they have bought magic beans but we don't actually "know" that yet. The flea market shopper could be justifying their purchase in an upbeat manner for all we know. Flea markets are usually filled with junk that moves from house to house

Just saying, flea market probably isn't the most helpful analogy to your cause
