Hi Flippa,
No prior to HPAL stage. Essentially the high Ni/Co laterite raw ore which would also be high FeMgO which would be roasted to remove the moisture (incl chemically bonded moisture). This material blended with the standard sulphide concs could increase the FeMgO would have Ni/Co credits. In a high sulfur environment at high temps in the smelter the Ni/Co could be recovered in the matte.
