350KW is heading into some serious electrical energy. As an industrial electrician I'm just that extra bit more careful when working on gear in that range and above. We regularly maintain it and only qualified people work on it, its mechanically protected and/or locked away from regular people getting near it. Sh!t still goes wrong occasionally.
Now, take Joe Blow at the Servo who doesn't give two craps about the equipment he's using because he just wants to get going again as quick as possible. The cable (which will need to be huge) will get dragged around, run over, jammed in the wrong way, full of crap - all very bad for the maintaining of electrical equipment.
BTW - 350KW at 800VDC is about 430Amps give or take - that's f'ing huge! I don't know of any hand held equipment that size. Does anyone have some details of how they do this because all the articles I can find have pictures of cables that look way too small for those currents?
Anyways, I'm in lithium up to my neck because in the short term I feel its the most likely tech for us to cut all ties to burning dinosaurs and sending us the same way as them - and its very, very good for my industry and job prospects.
