just some musings on watso's earlier post

the recorded production was 3500 0z, watos has no idea what the grade was, but for the heck of it, will assume it was 2 oz per tonne. this would suggest that the ore treated would have been in the order of 1700 tonnes, or about 650 cubic metres. the intersection of 3m at 167 g/t (about 5 oz) was at a depth of 40m, and was drilled immediately below an old stope. for the heck of it, suggest that the stope finished at 30m, and that the shoot was 2m wide, and that mineralization was from surface. on the above assumptions, the shoot would have had the dimensions of 10m long, 2 m wide, and 30 m deep. one can fiddle around the edges with the assumptions, but it gives some idea of the "small footprint" deposit. no wonder the company has to drill on a 20m x 20m grid, as any shoot could be so easy to miss
