Cheers Jukes,
My question was just seeking the facts as I was weighing up the possibility of holding against selling. I am aware of the stock price movements prior to ex div and wasn't using this as part of my strategy.
I have been day trading CBA over the past week, due to the volatility I picked it as good stock to catch on up and down swings by using historic support as my buy indication. I have been lucky the past week with the feds actions as it has given CBA huge swings and I've cashed in on all of them.
I actually bought CBA yesterday at 3.30pm and sold today on open, so I guess this entitles me to the dividend payment?
Thanks for your feedback and help.
