phone geeks,
you have made agood point but could I improve on it a bit? The source of the word Easter is the Roman and pagan goddess Ishtar pronounced "easter", all the way from ancient Babylon. She was commonly depicted with many breasts, 17 or more, and her rites included various symbols of fertility including rabbits and decorated eggs, and a lot of wife swapping and debauchery.
When half British (mother) half Roman(father) Constantine at the head of a large northern and British army came to crush Roman oppression of the rest of Europe and of Christianity in particular, the locals would not adopt Christianity or change their festivals, so they took the pagan festivals and gave them "christian" names and everyone was happy...except the most important party.
Pretty soon that party is going to clean up the mess, it is already beginning, on schedule. No more Mr Nice guy.
